Philippine National Standard Certification

The approval of Pneumatic tyres and inner tubes for Motor vehicles and their trailers imported/manufactured/sold in Philippine market.

Applicable PNS Regulations

• PNS 25:1994 for Pneumatic Tires (covers with PC, LT & TB)
• PNS 30:2000 for Inner tubes

Those are the ground rules/regulations as follow:

• DTI, DAO No 4 (Department Administrative Order, Series of 2000): Mandatory Philippine National Standards
• DTI, DAO No 4 (Department Administrative Order, Series of 2008): Market Monitoring (Random Sampling/Testing from Market)
• Application: Electrically through PCIMS by each Importer

Testing Laboratories Accredited by BPS

• PHILIPPINE GEOANALYTICS, INC., (PGA), #85 Kamuning Road, Kamuning Dist. 1V,Quezon City, Manila (Tire Testing)
• BPS Testing Center, CMDC Compound, Carlos Trinidad Ave., Salawag, Dasmarinas City, Cavite, Philippine (Tube Testing)
• Q-Tech Testing Laboratory, No 29G. Raymundo St., Bo. Molinao, Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippine (Tube testing)

Sampling Sizes: per Plant and per Brand

• PCR: Total 5 PCS Required as below:
  • 1st sample is for dimensional testing & plunger testing In-house (factory lab)
  • 2nd sample is for high speed testing in-house
  • 3rd sample is for endurance testing in-house 
  • 4th sample is for Plunger test & dimensional testing @ PGA Manila
  • 5th sample is for safekeeping as reference sample (kept by the factory)
• LTR & TBR: Total 4 PCS Required as follows
  • 1st sample is for dimensional & plunger testing
  • 2nd sample is for endurance testing
  • 3rd sample is for Plunger testing & dimensional testing @ PGA Manila
  • 4th sample is for safekeeping as reference sample (kept by the factory)
• Inner Tubes: Total 4 PCS Required as follows
  • 1st sample is for dimensional test and other tests required by PNS 34;1-2019; in-house (factory lab)
  • 2nd sample is for Q-Tech lab testing in Manila
  • 3rd and 4th sample is kept at the factory as a reference sample (Just in case sample sent to Q-TECH failed and requires re-testing) (For Tubes, in case of failure, it is allowed to re-testing by using the 3rd & 4th reference samples)

Timeline of PS Quality Mark Licenses

Approximately 3 to 4 Months after Application of PS Mark’ Audit (Depending on Test center’ workloads)
