The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) issued Gazette Notifications S.O. 1929(E) dated 26th April 2023 and S.O. 1363(E) dated 20th March 2025, amending the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021. The amendment inserted Television Sets at Sl. No. 64 in the Schedule of CRS Order 2021, mandating compliance with IS 18112:2022 – Digital Television Receiver for Satellite Broadcast Transmission — Specification.

Initially set to be implemented from 26th April 2025, the enforcement date was subsequently extended to 26th October 2025 to provide industry stakeholders additional time to achieve compliance.
