Recessed LED Luminaries were notified under the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012 via S.O. 2742(E), dated 17th August 2017. The category was later included under the updated CRS Order, 2021 (S.O. 1248(E), dated 18th March 2021), with enforcement effective from 18th September 2021.

 Recessed LED luminaires are ceiling or wall-mounted lighting devices designed for indoor illumination. The applicable standard is IS 10322 (Part 5/Section 2):2012 – Luminaires – Particular Requirements – Recessed Luminaires.
