Overview
Cordless massage appliances are widely used in homes, spas, salons, and wellness centres for relaxation and therapy. These devices contain motors, electrical circuits, and rechargeable batteries that require strict safety controls to prevent hazards such as overheating, electric shock, battery leakage, or mechanical injury.

IS 302 (Part 1):2024 defines electrical insulation, mechanical strength, battery management, temperature control, and operational safety requirements for battery-powered massage appliances.
