Rope Lights were included under the Electronics and IT Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012 through S.O. 2905(E), dated 13th November 2014, expanding the CRS coverage to LED-based luminaires. The final enforcement was implemented on 1st June 2016. Later, the product was incorporated under the CRS Order, 2021 via S.O. 1248(E), dated 18th March 2021, notified under the BIS Act, 2016. The revised order took effect on 18th September 2021, further refined through S.O. 1353(E) (dated 25th March 2021) and S.O. 2844(E) (dated 1st July 2021).
