This QCO replaces the previous version notified via S.O. 4098(E) dated 17 September 2024.

Electric coffee makers are widely used in households, cafes, restaurants, offices, and commercial spaces. Given the combination of heating, water, and electrical components, standardized safety controls are essential to minimize fire, shock, and operational risks.

Objective & Scope

The QCO mandates compliance with IS 302 (Part 1):2024, which ensures that electric coffee makers meet requirements related to construction safety, insulation, moisture resistance, temperature control, and durability under regular use.
