Notification

 LED flood lights were notified under the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012 via S.O. 2742(E), dated 17th August 2017. The enforcement date was effective six months later, from 17th February 2018. The product has since been re-notified under the Electronics and IT Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021 (S.O. 1248(E), dated 18th March 2021) with effect from 18th September 2021, with further amendments issued in March and July 2021.

 LED flood lights are widely used for outdoor, industrial, commercial, and architectural illumination. The applicable standard IS 10322 (Part 5/Section 5):2013 ensures electrical safety, fire hazard resistance, mechanical durability, and outdoor performance, protecting users and property from unsafe, non-compliant luminaires.
