Televisions other than Plasma/LCD/LED types were officially included under the Electronics and IT Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012 via S.O. 2905(E), dated 13th November 2014. The final enforcement was implemented through S.O. 344(E), dated 3rd February 2016, effective 1st June 2016. Later, the product was brought under the CRS Order, 2021 (S.O. 1248(E), dated 18th March 2021) under the BIS Act, 2016, effective from 18th September 2021, further amended by corrigenda in March and July 2021.
